What you'll be doing
- As a licensed practical nurse, candidate will provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction of a physician and a registered nurse. Provide nursing care according to established institutional and unit policies. Observe patient status, report and document changes and nursing care given. Administer and document medications, according to established standards. Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations. Instruct patients and families, according to a teaching plan established by the physician and a registered nurse. Participate in unit staff meetings for problem solving, planning and improvement of patient care. Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system will be required in this clinic. Perform other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- Current licensure as a licensed practical nurse in the state of Michigan is required. Successful completion of a pharmacology course in an accredited program is necessary. Ambulatory care services experience in an outpatient setting. Good written, verbal and computer skills are required. Pleasant interpersonal skills desired. The applicant must have excellent customer service skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduation from an approved school for practical nursing is required.
