What you'll be doing
- Perform patient screening and preventive therapy as prescribed by clinical practice guidelines and with the clinical reminders. Recognize acute, subtle changes indicating patient distress and initiate correct emergency interventions. Educate patient/family member about treatment regime, orientation to the clinics, medications, and instructions about complex/invasive procedures. Demonstrate sufficient skill to resolve a range of nursing problems. Correctly administer medications (including intravenous fluids) according to the company policy and therapeutic methods. Record document and reports. Display a professional appearance and attitude while interacting with patients, visitors and other company personnel.
What your background should be
- Six months of qualifying experience as an LPN or LVN. One year of experience that involved nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures. Knowledge and ability to recognize the need for and to institute emergency measures when indicated, promptly seek the assistance of the RN or MD/DO, and assist in resuscitation procedures in cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems.
