What you'll be doing

Perform the daily logistics work activities which include inventory management, receiving, picking, distribution, and shipping to various patient care and administrative areas. This position is accountable for inventory management accuracy from the line items received, to the items placed on the shelf in both the central supply and preoperative storeroom, to the distribution of product to patient and administrative floors and the reverse logistics of credits and returns. Ensure supply inspected prior to acceptance to verify the condition of the package and content along with the date. Assist drivers with loading/unloading delivery trucks. Perform key data entry function in order to maintain inventory and patient records accurately and timely. Assist with the resolution of problem receipts, purchase orders, releases, and deliveries. Record, update, and file packing slips, logs, and other records relative to the receiving and shipping activities utilizing hospital MMIS system records electronically daily supply levels based upon predefined par levels based on the minimum and maximum quantities listed for proper real time ordering of supplies. Deliver supplies or packages to the requester on scheduled basis. Ensure that all emergency supplies and perishable items delivered within an hour of receipt. Respond to customer service requests in a timely and expedited fashion. Alert supervisor/team lead when a customer service request is unable to fulfilled, or customer is unhappy. Communicate with supervisor regularly regarding problems and all major activities.

What your background should be

A minimum of two years work experience performing logistic related functions is preferred. Ability to read, writes, and speaks English and performs limited mathematical operations. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Ability to perform data entry and comfortable utilizing technology, such as ERP, Microsoft applications, etc. Ability to operate potentially hazardous mechanical loading equipment, such as electric power pallet jacks. Valid driving license for ad-hoc driving of Hospital fleet preferred. Ability to be accountable and work in self-managed teams by adhering to the hospital and departmental policies.

Required Schooling / Training

High school levels of course work with attainment of a high school diploma or equivalency.
