What you'll be doing

Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or pneumatics system, using hand tools and power tools while under direct supervision. Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of machinery. Adjusts machine for good process condition (e.g. machining equipment off sets and coating parameters). Performs routine and scheduled maintenance per PMCC and Work Standards on machines such as cleaning, lubricating parts, and daily repair. Solves practical problems encountered through troubleshooting and modifies existing line equipment. Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair (e.g. all machine and coating equipment). Completes PM check sheet. May orders and track spare parts usage and adjusts inventory. May create part changing plan. May assist other machine specialist in troubleshooting equipment using NC programming panel and/or PLC programming panel. May use oscilloscope, digital multimedia, signal generator, power supplies, voltage calibrator and other test equipment for calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.

What your background should be

1-2 years preventative maintenance experience, preferably in an automated manufacturing environment. Must be able to troubleshoot routine electrical/mechanical issues. Must be able to use shop tools and testers (multimeters, PC, Oscopes, gauges, and hand tools). Experience with basic electrical, pneumatic and mechanical principles in a manufacturing environment desired. Able to understand relay logic/ladder logic for troubleshooting PLC.
