What you'll be doing
- Plan and manage project scopes, schedules and budgets to provide a quality deliverable on time and on budget. Establish milestones, anticipate issues and monitor adherence to project scopes and schedules. Ensure project resources adhere to standard project management methodologies, IT development standards, processes and maintain proper documentation as defined within the management model. Monitor, identify and address changes to project scopes, schedules, budgets and health constraints. Proactively manage project risks & issues to ensure execution of corrective action plans up to closure. Manage effective stakeholder relationships by providing consistent communications and transparency of the project health of each initiative. Provide weekly, monthly and executive status updates with a project health report that includes status of the schedules, scopes, budgets, staffings, issues and risks. Oversee process improvement during the project to ensure adoption of standard processes that deliver sustainable top quartile cost and performance levels. Ensures that project metrics and lessons learned are appropriately documented and communicated for the benefit of other staff and future projects. Maintain current business knowledge oe acumen and project management expertise including application of technology solutions to deliver business results. Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel. Participate in career development and succession planning processes. Promote diversity and foster teamworks, collaboration and a learning organization. Provide input on development and retention processes for IT employees. Prepare, manage and monitor budget for areas of responsibilities. This includes forecasting labor and non-labor expenses to meet future support and project demands.
What your background should be
- 8 years of project management with large scale enterprise implementations (CRM or ETRMs). Appropriate technical skills & expertise. Microsoft technologies (.Net, C, C++), Oracle technologies (PL/SQ, Java ), Sling, XML, VSS, CVS, Unix. PMP certification as required by job focus. Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in the retail energy or wholesale trading, or other retail supplier industries (cable, telecom). Experience leading and managing multiple project development teams including Agile (small teams concept). Strong organizational skills with the ability to see the big picture while prioritizing the work of multiple project development teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss a project in the context of what is most important to the intended audience. Strong judgment and excellent analytical ability. Ability to influence, enable and challenge stakeholders towards commitment and execution of project deliverables. Ability to navigate through complex problem solving within a matrix organization. Experience in managing and reporting project budget, accruals and resource forecasting.
