What you'll be doing

This position is accountable for providing both technical and project leadership mainly in the areas related to applications; electrical/electronics; mechanical; manufacturing; quality; safety, health & environmental; or software. Provide recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and wastage; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of final products. Leads specification, design, analysis and development of industrial projects. Evaluate and validate design alternatives to create optimum process designs. Lead the teams of engineers and technicians through industrialization activities for set up and change manufacturing process. Participate in strategic planning as a member from engineering and technology development effort.

What your background should be

Knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of mechanical engineering, the methods of preparing designs, plans, specifications and estimates relating to product development, principles and techniques of mechanical drafting and creation of drawings, manufacturing equipment, sheet metal processes and mechanical assembly techniques. Ability to perform technical research and give reliable advice on difficult engineering problems, operate a computer terminal, including familiarity with pro/engineer or equivalent 3D mechanical design software, communicate effectively, both in oral and written form, establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, company management and fellow employees. Determines and realizes all actions necessary for prototype fixturing and work stations. Conduct risk assessment on capital equipment and provide inputs for replacements. Document the technical and generic specifications of the fabrication process design including line layouts, station layouts, information management, capacity and workload balancing. Experience in a new product development environment or related stage gate process awareness. Lean Expert certification or demonstrated competence in lean manufacturing (strongly preferred). Six sigma green belt or demonstrated competence in quality engineering skills (strongly preferred).

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in mechanical / industrial engineering or equivalent
