What you'll be doing
- The manufacturing engineer is responsible to create and develop documents for new and existing products from engineering drawings. The candidate will read and interpret blueprints and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, control settings, machining methods, and operational sequences. Design, create, and implement new CNC programs to include improvements in tooling, machine processes, new tool platforms, and capable fixturing. Develop sustainable and standardized machining process to exceed the company expectations in cost, quality improvement, and delivery to clients. Support and collaborate with the shop to insure quality programs and parts are being run by monitoring first articles of new programs, assisting with setups, tooling information, and trouble shoots issues. S/he will continuously research new machining methodologies and tooling to help improve company processes. Must develop machining practices that increase safety throughout, while reducing setup rates and non-conformances. Create g-code programs for efficiently manufacturing parts using gibbscam software. The incumbent will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processing order to exceed all goals set forth by the client company (safety, delivery, quality, etc.). Maintain a safe work environment and follow company policies.
What your background should be
- The candidate should have 3+ years of experience. S/he should have to understand lean manufacturing concepts, proficient in gibbscam, solidworks, and working with G&M codes. The applicant should have the knowledge of program interpretation, setup, and operation of cnc lathes, live tooling lathe, and 4-axis mills with fanuc or mitsubishi controls. Must be able to demonstrate expert skills in cad/cam software including reverse engineering, model manipulation, post processor generation and/or alterations, and machine template generation. Must be able to read an engineering print, including the ability to understand GD&T and must have the ability to adjust speeds, feeds, tooling and analyze code programs M and G.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
