What you'll be doing

This position is for a wiring design engineer for the avionics, power and wiring group of the orion program. The wiring design engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design, engineering, test and installation support of wiring harness for the next USA manned spacecraft. The individual will work with program engineers to define the design for the wiring harnesses, document the design in a CAD model, and coordinate with manufacturing of the harnesses with production.

What your background should be

The individual must have a basic understanding of the design and analysis of mechanical devices, familiarity with electrical engineering and the fundamentals of the system design process. Must be familiar with wiring design and harnesses. Familiarity with computer aided design concepts and programs. Desired skills proficiency in CAD/CAM programs, including Pro-E and Pro-E cabling. Familiarity with electrical design programs, including zuken is highly desired. Hands-on experience with spacecraft design and integration is also desired.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
