What you'll be doing
- Operates ultrasound equipment and performs a variety of technical procedures to produce images for patient diagnosis. Performs ultrasound and antenatal testing in the obstetrics/gynecology diagnostic ultrasound clinic. Operates ultrasound equipment and records results to observe fetal development and position. Adjusts parameters on equipment, and reviews calibrations to assure that scans are reproducible under similar conditions. Assists with research activities. Performs basic maintenance on equipment to assure proper working conditions. Participates in diagnosis process to access maternal and fetal well-being. Assists with research activities by collecting data and participating in research projects. Demonstrates the use of ultrasound equipment and techniques to assist with the education of students, nurses, residents, patients, and physicians. Attends continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances in ultrasound and antenatal testing.
What your background should be
- Two years experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or its equivalent.
