Responsible for delivering project objectives with allocated resources under time constraints set in collaboration with the project team and CVMED RU leadership. This design chemist will be responsible for all of the molecular design for their assigned programs and will be directly accountable for their designs advancing projects from exploratory stages to delivery of clinical candidates that survive to positive proof of concept (POC). The design chemist is also accountable for working with synthetic chemists to ensure that design and synthetic excellence drive appropriate selection of target compounds and speed to FIH. The design chemist is accountable for driving a strong scientific agenda wherein internal research capabilities are integrated with a broader research network to drive new thinking and capabilities in design. Maintain productivity and competitiveness against internal and external benchmarks. Fully accountable for producing knowledge that drives significant impact upon CVMED projects by driving effective design and synthesis interactions that advances projects from exploratory stages to delivery of clinical candidates. Accountable for survival of candidates to positive clinical proof of concept (POC). Leverages scientific expertise of the analytical chemistry, structural biology, data analytics and compound safety prediction (CSP) groups within WWMC as appropriate to ensure that appropriate technologies are applied to solving design problems. Leverages computational chemists as design partners and an internal network of synthetic chemists, biologists, structural biologists, ADME and safety scientists to advance projects within their research unit. Builds internal/external recognition of the teams and RU through high impact disclosures.
