What you'll be doing

Provide direction for new and current members in programming, member services, and new membership information. Maintain a strong customer focus. Greet, tour, cross sell customers interested in company memberships and programs. Data entry for all new and renewing membership. Understand and interpret the company mission and imperative to members, staff and public. Provide assistance with scholarship and health insurance reimbursement program memberships. Assist in monitoring membership and sales budgets. Actively promote monthly sales and marketing promotions and strategies. Ability to effectively communicate persuasive sales presentations to individuals and groups. Maintain strong customer service focus, while acting as the key department in implementing new members to the company. Accurately answer any and all company service related questions asked. Positively respond to telephone calls from potential members inquiring about new memberships. Handle customer concerns in a timely manner responding to all current and new member needs. Assist in the development of membership tracking system to help promote internal & external marketing plans. Handle all questions and paperwork regarding changes in membership status including; cancellations, adding or dropping members, and change of monthly debit information. Handle all related paperwork and departmental systems. Utilize daily tracking systems of incoming calls, emails, and new member inquiries. Maintain an ongoing supply of new member welcome folders. Track and order supplies, rate sheets, enrollment forms etc. for membership department as needed. Accountable for accuracy in computer, cash register and daily deposits. Ensuring that daily membership enrollment forms are complete before going to accounting department. Stay current and enforce department policies and procedures consistently and fairly. Participate in Health and Fitness management meetings and trainings.

What your background should be

Minimum of two years sales/customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must have professional image and abide by the company dress code policies. Self-motivated team player, with ability to effectively work under stress of multi-tasking during busy work times. Model excellent communication, teamwork skills, and the company mission through cross-departmental work.). Proven ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, skills and perspectives. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, and is result driven. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or equivalent.
