What you'll be doing

Manages assigned assortments on a regular basis according to the financial goals and objectives set by senior management. Identifies and drives new opportunities to improve product performance for each category. Conducts product line reviews (PLRs) for minor categories as directed by the merchandising director. Prepares financial analysis of assigned assortments and understands the impact of the results. Reports to the merchandising director the state of the category as directed, utilizing financial analysis and any necessary documentation. Provides business area product/promotion direction to marketing for use in marketing/advertising vehicles. Participates in the planning of product placement within the stores as defined by store planning. Consistently understands the product offering of all competitors in the market and the potential impact to the company. Reviews industry research to remain current on market trends. Under the direction of the merchandising director, negotiates with vendors as needed to secure the best opportunities for the company; assumes negotiation responsibility once merchandise director determines proficiency. Communicates relevant information concerning processes or changes through the appropriate channels to all members of the merchandising, logistics, vendors, store personnel and other applicable support groups.

What your background should be

The candidate should have 2 years of experience in retail product merchandising. Knowledge of merchandising systems. Advanced in Microsoft suits. Strong skills in oral and verbal communications.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in merchandising, marketing, business.
