What you'll be doing
- Demonstrates student achievement and is responsible for student learning. Promotes a physical classroom environment conductive to learning. Works a full day in accordance with state/federal and negotiated policies. Develops detailed lesson plans. Keeps accurate, current records of student achievement and attendance. Meets health and safety standards in accordance with state laws. Is responsible for handling discipline problems. Develops and locates materials needed for teaching lessons. Administers and scores tests for the purpose of evaluation the educational program and pupil progress. Refers students for physical, mental, social, and educational services not provided in a regular, self-contained classroom. Is responsible for the development of yearly goals.
What your background should be
- Current type a Alaska teaching certificate with endorsement in elementary education. Demonstrated ability to live and work in a cross cultural setting desirable.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree
