What you'll be doing

The successful candidate provide courses in area of certification to high school students, using the district approved curriculum, the standards and benchmarks identified for each course, and other curriculum publications as guidelines in teaching individual course content. Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. Develop lesson plans and appropriate instructional aides stressing discovery and laboratory learning as necessary depending on subject taught. Demonstrate subject matter concepts and examples using models, chalkboard, overhead projector, computers or any other standard or approved teacher-prepared instructional aides. Provide opportunities for student goal setting, reflection and self-assessment. Use assessment to improve learning and instruction. Participate in functional behavior assessments and in the development of intervention and support plans of individual students as necessary and required. Assume responsibility for instruction, duties, supervision of students, and required meetings at designated times. Evaluate student academic growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. Maintain and submit accurate and complete records as required. Select and requisition books, instructional aides, and instructional supplies; maintain required inventory records. Maintain professional competence through in service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities.

What your background should be

This position required a valid Colorado license endorsed in area of assignment K-12 Music or a valid CO licensed endorsed in another area and passing exam scores on the co-place music or a valid CO license endorsed in another area and 24 or more semester hours in music HR to review transcripts and make determination or a valid CO license endorsed in another area and a BA/BS or higher major in music HR to review transcripts and make determination.

Required Schooling / Training

BA/BS from accredited college or university.
