What you'll be doing
- Access health status through advanced physical examination and medical history and design individualized health care management plan in collaboration with staff nurse, physician and other health professional. Manage health care of neonate within protocol mutually agreed upon by physician and nursing personnel. Identity abnormal finding early and initiates appropriate intervention. Assess and provide support for the psychosocial need of the family unit. Provide neonatal health management, functioning within the guideline of the nurse practice act, regulatory agencies and policy and procedure. Provide and assess effectiveness of patient and family education. Participate on committee and in research as appropriate. Participate with performance improvement activity.
What your background should be
- Minimum two years nursing experience in a neonatal intensive care nursery. Basic life support for healthcare provider from AHA is required. Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse or a temporary license as a registered nurse petitioner in the state of NC. Approved to practice as a neonatal nurse practitioner in NC by the NC board of nursing and board of medical examiner.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
