What you'll be doing
- Under the general direction of the unit supervisor and the direct supervision of a registered nurse and a licensed vocational nurse for the immediate medical unit, the nursing assistant provides a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to the adolescent, young adult, middle adult and older adult patients admitted for medical oncology problems. The nursing assistant support the medical care of patients under the direction of the medical staff and a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. The candidate will appropriately communicate with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members according to the standards of behavior. The nursing assistant must be able to assess his/her learning needs to enhance personal and professional development.
What your background should be
- The ideal person should have experience in related field. The applicant will increase knowledge and skills related to patient care by attending workshops, formal classes, seminars and inservices. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on assigned area and shift. Current BCLS course completion.
