What you'll be doing

The occupational therapist is responsible to assess all students in caseload and develop appropriate goals and objectives implemented. The candidate will provide individual, group and co-treatment therapy to students on caseload. Attend team meetings, individual education planning meetings, faculty collaborations, and trainings. Collaborate with educators, family members, and colleagues to plan and implement services, and develop interventions as necessary. S/he will conduct occasional in-service training for other team members. Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports to appropriate parties. Complete monthly-designated instruction services invoices and therapy timesheets. The incumbent will ensure that appropriate OT materials and programs purchased to implement goals and objectives. The applicant will maintain appropriate office hours to meet with parents and students outside providers.

What your background should be

The candidate with 2 to 5+ years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum, school setting preferred. S/he should have familiarity with developmental relationship-based interventions, patience, perseverance, and proficiency on computer, with software applications. The applicant should have effective written and oral communication skills, flexibility and ability to multi-task successfully, ability to work collaboratively on a team. The incumbent should have training in sensory integration theory and experience implementing sensory diets. Experience in the various modalities of therapeutic listening, pep or interactive metronome therapy preferred.
