What you'll be doing

The Occupational therapy department is an enriching environment with great team players. The O.T. team assists in a variety of diagnosis including surgical patients, stroke, assisting with ADL and splinting. The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to their limitations. Administer diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of patient impairment and prognosis for improvement. Maintains and evaluates records and prepares reports on patient progress. Occupational therapy is a client-centered practice that places emphasis on the progress towards the client goals. Occupational therapy interventions focus on adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching the skill and educating the client/family in order to increase participation in and performance of daily activities, particularly those that are meaningful to the client. Occupational therapists often work closely with professionals in physical therapy, speech therapy, nursing, social work, and the community.

What your background should be

Current state of Arizona Occupational Therapist License required; must obtain CPR (BLS) certification within one month of employment. It is important for healthcare providers to promote a healthy environment and lifestyle and a tobacco-free policy.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in occupational therapy or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
