What you'll be doing

The occupational therapist (OT) evaluates the cognitive, perceptual, motor assets and liabilities of the patients for functional performance. The OT provides age appropriate, goal directed and activity oriented individual and group treatments to promote optimum independence in functional mobility and daily life tasks. The OT works as a member of a trans-disciplinary treatment team and supervises the treatment performed by a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), Rehab Assistants, Techs, Students and Volunteers. The OT ensures continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family or support system and participated in family and team conferences. The OT provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance. The OT participates in improvement programs, documentation of services according to the facility standards, promotes professional growth and contributes to the maintenance of the department operations.

What your background should be

Current state license and current CPR required. The applicant requires organizing and prioritizing tasks and projects; accurately completing job responsibilities within the specified time constraints. Idea candidate requires functioning proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment. Applicant requires having the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds and the ability to stand, sit, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, grasp, use fine finger movement.

Required Schooling / Training

4 Year Degree.
