What you'll be doing

The incumbent leads in the administration and coordination of general business office activities, services and operations including office management, meeting planning, procurement, training, mail and distribution, central filing, duplicating, word processing, fax equipment, and personnel and employment records. Coordinates and administers the accounting and financial systems relating to the operation of the department. He/she collects, compiles and analyzes complex statistical data and information. Generates and prepares summary reports related to department plans, programs and projects. Plans and coordinates independently the efficient management of administrative and office services such as vendor management, office clerical and support services, printing, mail and messenger services, telecommunications, maintenance, purchasing, security, and cafeteria services. Responsible for the accounting, cost methods, expense recording and tabulation methods for the department to ensure accurate and timely financial recording. Evaluates and recommends changes and improvements to existing processing procedures, standards, specifications, methods and equipment used throughout the department. The individual performs all other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Applicant requires having proven knowledge in office procedures and practices, intermediate mathematics, office-filing systems, record keeping procedures and accounting principles; proven knowledge in financial services and/or the insurance industry; and five years of office management experience with general office environment experience that includes writing, proofreading, mathematics and data analysis, and personal computing and corresponding software. Ideal candidate must possess strong organizational and decision-making skills for project coordination. Must able to train or lead employees in general aspects of the business operation for a particular department.

Required Schooling / Training

Undergraduate studies in business administration or related discipline are required.
