What you'll be doing

Helps to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services for patients and their families. Assists with a variety of visitor needs. Helps to establish communication plan for visitors in critical care units. Uses advanced knowledge of CMS regulations, visitor policies, HIPPA, and various patient rights laws to assist with visitor requests. Assists and work collaboratively with patient relations coordinators as directed with department needs. Provides direction to volunteers in ICU, CICU, and ED units when mission guest care specialist is not available. Assists with training and guiding associates at all levels in navigating various systems (ex incident reporting system). Able to trouble shoot and educate with a motivating and positive approach as well as in a non-punitive manner. Contributes to the achievement and success of the trinity health portal project goals and objectives as outlined by the hospital and department leadership. Uses computer applications or the other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments to maintain detailed records of service data and compiles it into statistical charts and reporting forms.

What your background should be

Candidate should have experience in related field. Advanced communication and customer service skills to communicate information (verbally and written) to a variety of roles clearly, respectfully, and adapt communication based on the receiver current knowledge base. Ability to form productive and positive relationships immediately with patients, their loved ones, and other caregivers but maintain appropriate boundaries. Computer skills required, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail systems.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree preferred with an emphasis in psychology, social work, or related health sciences preferred.
