What you'll be doing

The Patient Representative assigned to either the villages outpatient clinic or the tallahassee outpatient clinic. Patient Representative is a generalist who serves as a liaison between veterans and the North Florida/South Georgia veteran health system staff, acting on behalf of veterans and their families: an ombudsman who acts as a communicator, facilitators and problem solver. Administrative, organizational and educational skills will be used. Activity will cross all lines of authority and responsibility and encompass all departments, services and facilities within the system.

What your background should be

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time in grade requirements. Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience include but not limited to serving as a liaison between patients and medical center staff; receiving complaints and grievances from patients or family members, investigating the complaint, providing recommendations for corrective actions and maintaining good public relations in contacts with people in and outside of a medical center. Resolving problems quickly. Interprets facility policies and explains the process to patients and staff. Maintain a working relationship with company service groups.
