What you'll be doing
- The payroll manager shall coordinate, direct and control payroll preparation, processing and distribution. The incumbent will supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff. Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements. Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner. Direct the preparation of payroll related documents. Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements. Compile data from payroll sources. Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations. Maintain accurate account balances. Review and improve payroll policies and procedures. Support all internal and external audits related to payroll. Interpret new legislation impacting payroll. Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production. Manage and develop payroll staffs.
What your background should be
- Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll processing experience for a multi-state employer with multiple locations is required. Previous experience running Ceridian payroll system and work force management is asked. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of state, federal, wage and tax laws and overtime requirements. Proven customer service skills while maintaining a confidential work environment are required. Ideal candidate requires being a committed team player, detail oriented and an effective communicator. Applicant should be able to work in a fast-pace environment with the ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
Required Schooling / Training
- 4-year college degree or extensive experience in payroll management is required.
