What you'll be doing

Analyzing results of tests and making recommendations for optimum performance of plant equipment. Working with engineers, other departments, and outside contractors on special tests that include inspecting plant equipment, etc. Performing tests and analyzing results of tests to determine proper equipment maintenance. Analyzing results of tests to determine proper preventative maintenance intervals on equipment. Calibrating, installing, and repairing routine and specialized test equipment both of electrical a mechanical nature. Directing other departmental employees in installation and removal of routine test equipment such as thermocouples, pressure gauges, electrical meters, etc. Working in close cooperation with employees of outside contractors and other departments as directed during tests and directing those employees in installing equipment and obtaining test records. Making routine and minor adjustments of plant equipment to correct deficiencies discovered during testing.

What your background should be

At least three (3) years' experience in power plants or other industrial application in determining condition and analyzing performance of electrical and mechanical equipment. Previous experience communicating effectively in written and oral form. Skill in the use of small hand and power tools. Must maintain a valid driving license.

Required Schooling / Training

Must have at least a college level associate degree in the areas of mechanical or electrical technology, or the equivalent.
