What you'll be doing

As a pharmacy technician who have duties and responsibilities such as greets members at counter or over the telephone, accurately and efficiently preparing prescription orders, verifies members eligibility status, and receives prescriptions from members for pharmaceuticals. The position is also responsible for identifies situations when patient should speak with pharmacist regarding use of drugs and asks pharmacist to speak to member. May be answers routine inquiries from members regarding health plan drug coverage, prices, and related issues. Responsible person receives payment for over-the-counter medications and medical supplies selected by members. Performs other related duties as directed.

What your background should be

One (1) year of experience in pharmacy preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacy nomenclature and calculations. The individual have proficiency in the use of applicable computer software. The successful candidate will have effective interpersonal and communication skills. Must pass a background check/drug screen.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or GED
