What you'll be doing
- The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts and bearings. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location. Performs repairs in accordance with waste management safety and life critical rules and OSHA. Performs preventive maintenance inspection; diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders and building equipment. Maintains daily equipment inspections backlog. Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
What your background should be
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States. Successfully complete pre employment drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle record review. Hold a current Driving License. Able to complete welding and fabrication tasks that include reading prints, drawings, complete measurements, tolerances, and fusion of all genres of metal. Able to diagnose and repair single and three phase electrical systems, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and electrical control systems. Safely operates tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment.
