What you'll be doing

Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to the regulations and hotel requirements. Ensure security of any assigned keys and radio. Review and complete checklist throughout the day. Check with managers and housekeeping office for additional assignments throughout the scheduled shift. Organize work duty priorities. Review assigned area and complete general removal of any trash or debris on floors. Maintain cleanliness and organization of closets; restocking of supplies; remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and mop floor; remove non-floor closet items and transport to proper storage areas. Clean designated areas with proper tools and equipment. Ensure that nothing is stored in stairwells. Transport any food and beverage trays/items in public areas to service areas. Check under furniture for debris and remove if present; reposition furniture to correct floor plan. Inspect condition of all furniture for tears, rips and stains and report damages to manager. Check for any missing items. Dust and polish all woodwork. Remove all dust, debris and foreign particles from upholstered furniture, including crevices and under cushions. Clean all lamps and light fixtures and light switches; check for proper working condition. Remove dust, spots and smears from windows, frames and ledges; wash windows as assigned. Remove stains, scuff marks, and dust from baseboards, ledges and corners. Polish all brass and chrome surfaces to a high gloss. Empty trash containers, ashtrays, & ash urns in all public areas.

What your background should be

Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled. Ability to stand on feet up to 8 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, over the phone or in personAbility to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply. Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and at in emergency situations. Knowledge of proper chemical handling.

Required Schooling / Training

High school graduate or equivalent vocational training
