What you'll be doing

Identify problem with specimen type, missing information etc., with regard to sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimen; is able to resolve or forward information in support of timely problem resolution. Demonstrate an understanding of compliance policy related to test ordering, which require developing ability to research test order-information on translation table, computer system and the directory of service. Report to work on time and follow attendance guideline; support the department performance in the event of coworker absence. Perform other duty as assigned.

What your background should be

Minimal data entry skill. Good organizational skill. Understanding of specimen types related to test ordered. Clinical department requirement with regard to specimen types and quantity needed for each test, specimen handling and delivery. Understanding of compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change on a daily basis. Ability and willingness to support the goal of the department with regard to staffing need on weekend, holidays on call and overtime.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or GED required.
