What you'll be doing

Develop and implement age appropriate curriculum using the school readiness preschool curriculum framework and assessment model. Provide nurturing well organized environment that supports childrens development over all domains. Engage in positive discipline techniques and support childrens ability to acquire the skills of self discipline. Complete weekly observations, records and documentation of growth and development through established evaluation tools for portfolio development. Assist co-teacher in maintaining transition plans, individual education plans and individual behavioral plans as needed. Establish and maintain ongoing communication with parents through daily contact, parent-teacher conferences, and special events. Work in partnership with community based agencies, program consultants, and public school system when needed to support child and family. Follow system for maintaining classroom cleanliness. Participate in family style meals, modeling appropriately for children following NAEYC and CACFP guidelines. Participate with co-teacher to keep NAEYC portfolio documentation current. Participate in evening required workshops when scheduled. Lastly conduct other duties assigned by director.

What your background should be

Must be at least 21 years of age. Minimum two years of experience teaching preschool aged children. Must be CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certified.

Required Schooling / Training

Minimum associates degree in early childhood education, preferably a bachelor degree.
