What you'll be doing

Conduct research to develop and test new fabrication process and procedure. Develop new or modify current seat assembly method, technique, and procedure. Establish assembly instruction/visual aid to guide production team relating to specification/process. Assist in development and maintenance of work instruction in compliance with TS16949 requirement. Set up automation process, train manufacturing staff, and hand over completed process to manufacturing team. Communicate project status to other department and manufacturing plant. Support plant manufacturing and engineering staff during new program launch. Manage tool and equipment sourcing. Lead or assist with supplier selection process including project quotation and request for quotation (RFQ). Create and manage purchase order for tools and equipment. Manage supplier in the design, construction, and installation of new tools and equipment. Improve existing or develop new equipment and tooling including managing engineering change instructions (ECI). Assist with writing equipment specifications for new or modified equipment and/or obtaining agreement on specification of equipment from plant and other department. Conduct root cause analysis and problem solving method. Interface with internal/external customer and lead team member in problem solving with regard to production, customer, and supplier concern. Create and manage project budget and associated paperwork and record keeping related to project, schedule, Ringi document, ECI, drawing, data, etc. To read component, assembly and equipment drawing and have an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills. Function both independently and with good judgement in a team environment.

What your background should be

4 years of relevant experience required. Manufacturing experience in general assembly, automation, ultrasonic welding, screw tightening, vacuum forming, edge folding, ornament lamination, equipment procurement etc. Two or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering preferred. Experience in automotive interior component (e.g., injection, assembly, tooling, and other miscellaneous component), managing project from design to production, is preferred. Experience in automotive seating related process is preferred. Must be proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software. Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or related technical field required.
