What you'll be doing

Manages, works in, plans, and directs the child watch program. Assists and monitors school age afterschool program. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Conducts monthly and individual staff meetings. Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives, including completion of monthly variance reports indicating any corrective actions necessary. Acts as support for kids night out on the second Saturday of the month by providing staffing assistance. Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans, some fee based, for early childhood. Assists in marketing and distribution of program information; may organize and schedule program registrations. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program. Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.

What your background should be

Minimum two years of related experience as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs. Must be at least 21 years of age. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date and child abuse prevention training along with other safety trainings assigned within 10 days of hire date. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Must have good communication skills.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in early childhood education, child development, child and family studies or related field.
