What you'll be doing
- Under the supervision of the Childcare Director, the Youth and Teen Program Director is responsible for the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of Youth and Teen programs. The incumbent will ensure that all operations in the Youth and Teen programs run smoothly. This position is responsible for creating new and innovative programs that meet the needs of the community, and responsible for integrating Youth and Teen best practices in applicable programs. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and distributes program calendar and newsletter. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information; may organize and schedule program registrations. Reviews and processes youth program scholarship applications. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives, including completion of monthly variance reports indicating any corrective actions necessary. Coordinates use of various facilities including gymnasium for all programs, activities and events. Acts as support for Kids Night Out on the second Saturday of the month by providing staffing assistance. Assists with teen summer camp and teen after school sites. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
What your background should be
- Two years related experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date and Child Abuse Prevention training along with other safety trainings assigned within 10 days of hire date. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Must be proficient in office products including word, power point and excel. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree in a related field
