What you'll be doing
- The project coordinator will coordinate renovations between the customer and all organizational service groups and outside agencies, ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications. Develop scope of work and manage capital building/system renovation projects. Observe work in progress to gauge timeliness, conformance with requirements, and acceptable workmanship. The incumbent will interview customers to collect information for designing their renovation plan, accounting for all required services and construction. Provide cost estimates for manpower, materials, and equipment for renovation designs. Attend pre-construction conferences and review contract bidding documents. Review contract plans and specifications for conformance to project requirements. Obtain approvals and submit all paperwork to appropriate agencies for renovation designs. Coordinate contractors and sub-contractors. Coordinate maintenance and service issues with facilities management where required.
What your background should be
- 2 years related experience; 1 of which is in project management, OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Experience in managing tenant improvement projects in a higher education environment; performing commercial building inspections; estimating; familiarity with construction in occupied space desired. Applicant is also desired having demonstrated knowledge of: facilities planning, project management, Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills is also expected.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree required.
