What you'll be doing
- Our company is proud to be the global largest developer and manufacturer of locomotives for commuter, freight, intercity passenger, industrial, switching and mining customers. Besides, our company also designs, develops and manufactures generators and engines for marine applications, land-based and offshore drilling rigs as well as stationary power units. The most essential duties for the Project Engineer position include: - Take responsibility for prototype development, diesel engine component design, testing as well as manufacturing support. - Work in cross-functional teams and coordinate with outside suppliers as well internal departments. - Identify clients field failures and provide cost effective and timely solutions. - The Project Engineer must be a serious self-starter, who can closely co-operate with the senior technicians and engineers. - Effectively communicate with the other members of the company team. - The candidate for the Project Engineer position must be aware of all mechanical engineering design tools in order to conduct component design analysis. - The Project Engineer must demonstrate solid written skills required to provide technician reports and perform operating procedures.
What your background should be
- The Project Engineer position requires you to have the following abilities and skills: - Must be familiar with manufacturing processes and basic machining tools. - BS in Mechanical Engineering + minimum of 8 years of previous experience in engine performance / design. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Ability to make sketches and interpret engineering drawings as well as perform common mechanical engineering computations. - Proficient knowledge of PC software as it pertains to the engineering. - Ability and willingness to travel as required by the Project Engineer position (almost 30%).
