What you'll be doing

Applies professional concepts to perform analysis of data and systems pertaining to moderately complex projects, policies and/or processes and functions. Gathers and assembles analytical and factual data on assigned problems and issues to prepare reports and/or analyses summarizing information on the assigned issues and commenting on other significance for internal department constituents. Prepares, edits and modifies documents including research reports, manuscripts, presentations and proposals. Using subject matter knowledge collects and prepares information for use in discussions, meetings of high-level management and external constituents. On a project basis, performs analytical studies on a variety of policies, programs and issues. Provides a variety of analytical duties in support of a function, program and/or organizational unit. Participates in administrative policy and program planning and development.

What your background should be

A demonstrated interest in issues of social justice. Working skills to analyze information and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external partners, both verbally and in writing. Familiarity with community organizing strategies. Knowledge of community-centered economic development strategies. Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and/or workshops with diverse community audiences using popular education and participatory decision-making techniques. Demonstrated ability to write for technical and lay audiences. Experience with software, such as MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and responsiveness. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proven ability to multi-task, as well as set and maintain goals for multiple projects with demanding time-frames.
