What you'll be doing

Maintain supplier relationships and serves as a liaison between suppliers and plant resources. Seeks opportunities to reduce or eliminate waste via JIT programs, negotiations, value analysis, cost reductions, cost containment, simplification, standardization, make or buy and scrap disposal. Compiles information required for budgeting, projects, and studies and handles special projects as assigned. Assists in coordinating trails or productions lines with engineering and manufacturing. Coordinates productions lines for all new products or line extension introductions, as well as the phase out of obsolete or discontinues items. Monitors and corrects invoicing discrepancies through DART/ACS system. Maintains correspondence and files related to purchasing activities. Provide inventory control support by managing negative inventories, highlight suspected BOM issues, analyze and evaluate monthly WIP inventories, and investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies in the their area of responsibility

What your background should be

2-3 years in purchasing/planning or related fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Thorough knowledge of BPCS or related MRP system. Working knowledge of GMP and ISO practices. Lean training or certification. Working knowledge of six sigma practices. Project management skills preferred.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree.
