What you'll be doing
- Under general supervision, the candidate will perform advanced level professional work in exposing and processing radiographic images and fluoroscopy examinations. The ideal person will circulate to other diagnostic radiology areas as assigned by the supervisor (for example: surgery, trauma, and pediatrics) and is recognized as an expert in his/her field, or participate in a training program to enhance knowledge and skills in other specialized radiology areas or modalities. S/he has to operate standard and portable radiology equipment to perform radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies, including intravenous pyelography, cystography, gastro-intestional series and body section radiography. The successful person will assist physicians and perform specialized imaging procedures and have knowledge of trouble shoot and resolve problems regarding equipment and film output. The candidate will act as a resource and preceptor for other radiographer and student. May participate in training programs to enhance radiology skills and become proficient in producing images of a patient body in computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, or special procedures. The incumbent will maintain records, inventory, and equipment for area of primary responsibility.
What your background should be
- The candidate should have one year as a radiographer experience and skilled in multiple specialty areas within OUMC. Candidate has knowledge of the techniques of diagnostic radiography and knowledge of the operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment. The ideal person must have ability to prioritize assignments; ability to assess, treat, and care for patients of varying ages and good interpersonal skills. S/he has ability to communicate technical information in such a way that patients and parents can understand the procedure and what is expected of them and computer skills. Must be able to work under stress.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
