What you'll be doing
- Obtain quality radiographs of patients in an acceptable timeframe. Comply with radiation safety guidelines. Operate radiographic equipment safely. Demonstrate the ability to perform all necessary computer operations. Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identify patients utilizing proper protocol. Prepare examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Assist the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient. Review each exam for technical accuracy and identify anatomical orientation on all images. Demonstrate willingness to assist in additional duties. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients. Complete and maintain educational requirements.
What your background should be
- One year as a staff technologist preferred. American registry of radiologic technology required, American society of radiologic technology preferred, and Virginia society of radiologic technology preferred, and IV certification required. Current AHA healthcare provider CPR certification required.
