What you'll be doing

The position work under general supervision in performing a variety of diagnostic procedure according to departmental protocol, as requested by physician order. The candidate will position the patient body part for imaging and set appropriate technical factor on the imaging equipment with a high degree of competency to ensure production of quality image for interpretation by the position. The candidate will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include extended shift, night and/or weekend shift, overtime and holiday. Adhere to prescribed standard for radiation safety and infection control. Provide patient and family education related to imaging procedure. Utilize a personal computer or terminal to access the hospital information system and PACS. Assist in training and orientation of other employee. Assist with training of radiologic technology student. Follow hospital and departmental policy and procedure. Maintain yearly CPR certification, safety and infection in service, plus adequate education hour to meet ARRT requirement. Assist with coordination of patient exam scheduling. Perform other job duty as requested. It is the expectation that all task is performed with a patient centered focus while seeking opportunity to continually improve core process.

What your background should be

Ability to perform diagnostic procedure and to meet the specific need of various patient age group. Current ARRT registry in good standing. Current basic CPR certificate. Modality certificate preferred. Proficiency in verbal and written communication. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to multi task and priority quickly.

Required Schooling / Training

Graduate degree from an accredited program.
