What you'll be doing
- Therapist will exhibit appropriate knowledge and skills needed for the administration of general respiratory pharmacology and therapeutics, to include: patient assessment, patient responses, accurate dosing and side effects in all appropriate age groups. The person in this position will use his/her expertise of respiratory care standards and emergency procedures to provide safe and effective patient care. He/she will maintain strict infection control techniques, while meeting facility standards at all times. The therapist will provide education and education materials (where necessary) to patients and their family members. He/she will practice, develop and endorse customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers. He/she will also participate in quality improvement activities of the department and/or facility routinely. He/she will perform other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- Current/active (in good standing) Texas Department of Health-Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure is required. The applicant will require a BLS licensure (American Heart Association standards). Applicant requires providing a certificate by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Applicant also requires clinical experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting. Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP provider preferred.
Required Schooling / Training
- Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited college or university is required.
