What you'll be doing

As a receptionist, candidate is responsible to answer telephone and respond as appropriate per clinic guidelines. Able to triage and transfer calls in a timely manner. Assist with patient appointment activities. Scheduling or rescheduling patient appointments; follow up on show appointments. Provide patient confirmation calls per clinic specifications. Greet and direct patients and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner. Record messages accurately and legibly. Message distributed promptly to the appropriate person and location. Collect and record co payment from patients. Correct the documentation of transactions and reconciliation of cash drawer receipts. Prepare deposits. Initiate the pulling, filing and searching for patient charts appropriate to patient care. Check and prepare charts for following day. Put charts in order with appropriate patient forms. Send, retrieve and distribute fax data as directed. Operate photocopier and maintain daily operation and maintenance of photocopier. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

The candidate must have at least 1 or more years providing customer service, preferably in an ambulatory health care setting. Office or clerical and computer skills, experience in scheduling and electronic medical records. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred. Knowledge of computer and computer applications, organization policies, regulations and procedures, risk management; quality improvement, insurance protocols, ICD-9, CPT coding is required. Correct verbal and written communication, to include appropriate grammar, correct spelling, legible handwriting, reading comprehension and follow-through on instructions is preferable.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or general educational development or equivalent with an aptitude in math is preferred.
