What you'll be doing

Performs and interprets analyses offered by the section accurately and efficiently according to established procedures. Maintains accurate and orderly records of tests performed. Uses independent judgement and discretion to recognize problems, generally works well with others making contributions to the work effort as a whole. Facilitates problem resolution. Communication to promote both efforts is clear and professional. Performs, evaluates, interprets and documents quality control of equipment and procedures within established guidelines. Performs and documents routine equipment preventive maintenance and minor repairs. Teaches students, new employees and others as assigned by technical specialist or lab manager. Readily assists in development and/or implementation of new or revised procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

No experience required. Experience in a hospital laboratory setting preferred unless those employees grandfathered in by CLIA. Knowledge of the functional discipline of the work area. Knowledge of work area processes and procedures. Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships as required in the operating environment.

Required Schooling / Training

Preferred to have a bachelor degree in a related field.
