What you'll be doing

The registered nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The candidate performs focused interview to identify specific patient needs. Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient condition. Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and potential nursing diagnoses. S/he documents the patient plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions. Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements. Monitors consistency between patient plan of care and actions of medical staff and, performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care, outcome standard. The incumbent provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment. Initiates and evaluates patient and family education. S/he revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions. S/he documents patient response to nursing and other interventions. S/he uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities. This position monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment. S/he participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the chosen facility. This function supports professional practice by observing the nurse practice act, standards of nursing practice, standards of patient care, jcaho, state and local laws, patient bill of rights, and nursing and client hospital policies. The applicant performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

The candidate must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty. The applicant should have current registered nurse license, current bls card and acls card (for acuities above med/surg.), current ppd or chest x-ray, current tb test, and 2 mmr and varicella immunizations. S/he should have full command in verbal and written, of the english language. One year of prior professional nursing experience preferred. Required successful completion of screening tests for the clinical specialty areas in which the rn practices with a score of 80% or greater and company background screening. This job required some physical/work environment demands.
