What you'll be doing

Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and supervising direct patient care on medical/surgical/palliative care units. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines, and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Serves as team leader and shift charge nurse.

What your background should be

1-3 years of related experience. Full unrestricted licensure, certification, or registration required. BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize multiple medical and surgical diagnoses.Demonstrated excellent physical assessment skills. Demonstrated ability to be dependable, self-directed, and flexible, including flexibility in assignment and time scheduling.

Required Schooling / Training

Graduate of a school of professional nursing
