What you'll be doing
- Rounds with physicians to ascertain plan of care for patients and provide update on patients. Monitors core measure metrics; participants in performance improvement activities. Discusses and monitors responsiveness, pain and nurse communication. Validates intentional rounding performed by staff and provides recognition/coaching as needed; assists with the interview process of new hires. Oversees staff assignments; ensuring assignments are appropriate to patient needs and updates as needed in accordance with staff competency and infection control issues. Maintains contact with staff throughout the shift for updates on patient conditions; provides real time education as needed. Delivers training and education on identified topics; accepts departmental accountability for current and new policies, clinical programs and systems necessary to support changing patient care needs.
What your background should be
- Must hold a current license from the Kansas board of nursing. BLS and ACLS required upon hire. 1-2 years of previous charge experience preferred. Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred. Previous emergency, pre-hospital or critical care preferred.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
