What you'll be doing

The registered nurse will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The candidate will implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. The incumbent will competently apply the patient centered care nursing process, collaborative teamwork and leadership, information resources technology and processes to communicate for quality patient outcomes and unit outcomes of care and processes. S/he is also responsible to apply lifelong learning; contribute to the science of nursing; participate in governance; share knowledge to expand the scale and scope of best practices with others; build the ethical, moral and regulatory base for best practices and process of patient and unit care. The candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

This position required a minimum of nine months of internal nursing experience and also one year of external nursing experience. Temporary or current registered nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date, current home state license for multi state license recognition through the nurse licensure compact is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor of science, nursing is preferred.
