What you'll be doing

The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for the well being and nursing care of all residents assigned to him or her during his or her shift. He or she delivers care to clients following the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The RN effectively interact with clients and provide information on health maintenance and disease prevention and provide case management with clients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Distribute and document medications including narcotics according to established standards and regulations. Monitor all aspects of client care services. Teach clients and their families appropriate health information and shares written materials as needed. Ensure that all safety and infection control practices are followed. Respond to emergency situations. Ensure that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards. Communicate with patients and families regarding treatment and care. Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.

What your background should be

At least one year of experience with home health is preferred. In addition, s/he must have a current certification in CPR, a copy of an updated physical (based on state requirements) and reliable transportation. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in nursing.
