What you'll be doing
- Circulates cases as it relates to unit scope of care. Understands principles of aseptic technique and requirements for scrubbing cases as it relates to unit scope of care. Exercises sound judgment and decision-making skills on behalf of patient, self, and peers. Pursues own professional growth through continuing education and in-services. Communicates effectively with staff, peers, sr. leader, external and internal customers. Organizes work to complete duties effective and efficiently. Serves as a professional member of the O.R. team. Demonstrates competency in providing patient/family education. Adheres to hospital policies and procedures; supports the mission of the hospital.
What your background should be
- A minimum of 1 year hospital experience or 2 years including a perioperative internship. Current Virginia license, completion of perioperative course or previous experience as a perioperative O.R. nurse. Current certification as a BLS healthcare provider. Experience with documentation in an electronic medical record. Scrub experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
