What you'll be doing
- Provides patient care in keeping with department of nursing standards and with attention to physical, and emotional, social, spiritual, cultural, and age-specific needs while preserving personal dignity and autonomy. Demonstrates safe expert knowledge and care relevant to respective nursing area and the ability to apply current theory to practice. Demonstrates organization and critical thinking skills to function effectively in charge nurse, team leader and other leadership roles requiring application of problem solving skills at the unit or program level. Utilizes team approaches to identify, analyze, and resolve problems. Uses sound judgment in assess, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluation age-specific patient care. Works with the team and individual patient in managing the patients care and environment. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and leadership in improving patient care through the use of nursing process. Identifies nursing diagnosis/clinical problems and related interventions according to nursing service/unit policy. Ensures the implementation of interventions to address identified patient problems. Coordinates the nursing care planned and delivered by nurses in conjunction with other providers. Documents nursing care as specified by unit/nursing service policy. Identifies patient/SO learning needs and ensures that those needs are addressed.
What your background should be
- Must have a current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice nursing in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S. or in the district of Columbia. Must pass physical examination and tuberculosis (TB) skin test before entering on duty. Must be proficient in spoken and written english. Demonstration of excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills is required. The candidate must possess excellent leadership and problem solving, knowledge and experience dealing with disciplinary/union issues, strong negotiation skills, communication skills, organizational, and written skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing
