What your background should be
- Two years of experience in medical records or allied health licensure/certification. Certified tumor registrar or registered health information technician required, or the ability to successfully complete certification testing within two testing after meeting the eligibility requirements. Excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to analyze detailed medical records data for collection according to specific guidelines. Ability to concentrate amid distractions and for long periods of time. Good communication skills with medical staff and ancillary departments.
Required Schooling / Training
- Associate degree in any allied health field, completion of approved courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and disease processes required.
